Shaar HaBitachon — the Gate of Trust — is among the most beloved sections of Chovos HaLevavos (Duties of the Heart), the timeless mussar classic written by Rabbeinu Bachya ibn Pakuda nearly a thousand years ago. This gate offers a profound and systematic exploration of bitachon: what it means to truly place one's trust in Hashem, the foundations on which such trust rests, and the peace of mind it brings to one who internalizes it.

This Hebrew edition presents the full text of Shaar HaBitachon in clear, readable type, accompanied by seven commentaries (ז' פירושים) that illuminate the words and ideas of the sefer for learners of every level. The convenient small size (4.5" x 7") makes it easy to carry and learn from anywhere. An essential addition to any mussar library.

About the Sefer

Chovos HaLevavos was originally written in Judeo-Arabic by Rabbeinu Bachya ibn Pakuda, a dayan in eleventh-century Spain, and translated into lashon hakodesh by Rabbeinu Yehuda ibn Tibbon as Toras Chovos HaLevavos. Divided into ten gates, each devoted to a core principle of the inner spiritual life, it has been studied and cherished for centuries as one of the foundational works of Jewish ethical and spiritual literature.
